Greetings from Berlin, as a junior architect just starting out, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the acronyms thrown around during meetings. I was reviewing some old project files last week and realized I didn't fully grasp the strategic value of the inquiries we send out. I wanted to dig deeper than just the dictionary definition of the term. Understanding the RFI meaning in construction actually helped me see how it affects the legal and financial aspects of a build. The article I read did a great job of explaining why timing is so critical when submitting these requests. It was fascinating to learn that a poorly drafted inquiry can actually halt a project's progress. Since then, I’ve been much more careful about how I phrase my questions to engineers. This resource was exactly what I needed to bridge the gap between school theory and site practice. I've even printed out a summary to keep on my desk for quick reference during calls.
