The 12 Chinese zodiac animals in order are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

It is believed that people born in a given year would inherit the traits of the animal governing that year.
