PCB's signal conditioners have isolated grounds
699 0 Dec 05.2013, 17:40:00

A family of rack-mount signal conditioners from PCB Piezotronics offers selectable filters and isolated grounds to aid vibration testing of satellites and automotive components. Other applications include product testing, drop testing, and general vibration testing.

The Model 483C30 supplies eight channels with true galvanic isolation of each input-to-output, which is on/off selectable per channel. Isolation is required for the removal of ground loop noise caused by sensors that are electrically on ground. Other features of this low-noise unit include a choice of ICP, charge, or voltage inputs; multiple charge input sensitivities of 0.1 mV/pC, 1 mV/pC, and 10 mV/pC; incremental gain of 0.1X to 200X; internal/external calibration; 4th-order 10-kHz low-pass filtering; and an Ethernet interface. Other frequency filters are optional.

The Model 481A03 offers 16 channels of ICP input with programmable 8th-order elliptical low-pass filters (greater than 256 steps); incremental gain of 0.0025X to 200X; internal/external calibration; programmable overload threshold; and an RS-232 interface. It can be used with all models of ICP sensors for vibration, pressure, force, and strain measurement.
